Parenting Model Metaphor Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words - 1
Parenting Model Metaphor - Essay Example In a game of chess, to be able to win, a player must move the right piece at the right time. That also happens in parenting. When parents want their children to behave well, they need to send the right message at the right time to them. Children are very sensitive sometimes. Parents might feel a short message or an unexplained order is enough to control their childrenââ¬â¢s behavior. The children, on the other hand, might think that the short unexplainable message means that they are not needed or that they are not loved. Taking time to help the children understand what happens around them, what is expected from them, and what will happen if they do that is very crucial for parents to make them understand and, more importantly, feel appreciated. (Chapter 12) A game of chess is played step by step. In this game, it is impossible to move all the pieces at the same time without disrupting the rule. At most, in special occasions, the player can only move two pieces in the same turn. This is also true in parenting. Parents-children relationship cannot be built in a day. Their trust is built through simple and continuous daily interactions. Parents, even mothers, cannot expect their children to completely accept them trustfully from the very first day. Children, especially infants, will grow closer and more attached when the parents keep showing their affections through loving and caring contacts like when these parents change their diapers, feed them, comfort them, or talk to them. (Chapter 12) A chess player indeed needs to capture the opponentââ¬â¢s chess king to win the game. However, it doesnââ¬â¢t mean that the player should forget his/her own chess king. He/She must guard the king carefully so that the opponent is unable to capture it. Does this defense also apply in parenting? Yes, it does. Promoting and keeping guard of a secure attachment with their children should be a major goal of all good parents. Parents who are

Models of Decision Making Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
Models of Decision Making - Essay Example 2. My responses to the questions in the activities were primarily based on my knowledge of basic mathematical operations and principles. My judgment of each situation/activity is based on the assumption that the answer for each activity would require only a knowledge of math, specifically, statistics. However, from what the correct responses for each activity showed, it became evident that a deeper analysis is embedded in each response. Each response required a look into how, if an alternative, logical kind of reasoning is applied, a different answer emerges-an answer that is somewhat different from what was earlier generalized, based only on simple mathematical analyses. 3. From each activity arise different principles that demonstrated how, in decision- making, detailed and methodical reasoning is imperative. Take as an example the first activity shown, wherein at first analysis, most individuals would answer Option 1 rather than Option 2.

Assignment 10 Chapter 9 Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words
10 Chapter 9 - Assignment Example Resource loading gives a project planner a rough estimate of the resources that are required for a given project. Resource loading is determined to a large extent by the time to be taken by each project activity. Resource loading differs from resource leveling in that resource leveling aims at appropriate resource allocation such that the activity is not over-allocated any resource. It also reduces any chances of under-allocation of resources. Resource leveling can be done by delaying or splitting an activity until when the required resource is available. Critical chain concept was developed to solve the problem of time wastage in project implementation. Critical chain is explained as the longest chain of project tasks that are logically dependent. Since the planner cannot be sure of the critical chain timeline, buffers are used manage and control any variations that might occur. Buffers ensure that the project finish date is not

In this era of globalization, establishing strong supply chain has become inevitable for the global as well as national players in order to manage complexities in global sourcing of raw materials and supplying the apparels and other finished goods to the customers all over the world (Lysons and Farrington, 2012). In fact, ensuring effective supply chain management helps the market players in the industry to achieve competitive advantages over other players. The objective of the research paper is to identify the key success factors in supply chain management that leads to create excellence in the textile sectors. For the purpose of analysis, the textile indu stry of the United Kingdom will be examined. The concept of supply chain management has gained considerable attention mainly after globalization and massive trade liberalization. According to Basu and Wright (2010), as a result of rapid expansion of cross border trade, the global industries subsequently understand the importance of supply chain management as it is becoming necessary for them to procure information, capital and raw material and present their manufactured products all over the world. Such global acquisition of materials and distribution of products would not have been possible if very strong supply chain has not been incorporated. Koprulu and Albayrakoglu (2007) have defined supply chain management as the integrated process that facilitates the associated organizations to break all the barriers of resource procurement and obtain the best possible resources for the business.
